Globe Trotting

Aspire to Inspire:  buildOn is my favorite non-profit.  They do so much for children in the United States and around the globe. This organization develops after school programs in urban communities for high school students.  The program is designed to educate these students on the social and global issues affecting the world they live. They are encouraged to help solve these social issues through community service, such as feeding the homeless and visiting senior citizens.  In addition, they raise funds for construction materials to build schools in developing countries.  BuildOn's program, also, provides students with the opportunity to go to the developing country (Haiti, Malawi, Nepal, Mali & Nicaragua) to build a school alongside the people of that community.  It is an incredible organization that empowers children through education and example.

On September 27, 2012, a short documentary, Haiti 18, chronicles the journey of 18 high school students building a school in Taverne, Haiti.  The film will be showing at Lower Merion High School in Pennsylvania.

Thank you buildOn for helping educate children around the globe. Bebe Birds loves ya'!
