To ENK We Go

Bebe Bird Wearing One of His Ever After tees

Today kicks off the ENK Children's Club Trade Showa children's wear trade show that happens in the fall every year where exhibitors showcase their collections.  I went to my first show two years ago while working on this shoot for W magazines December 2010 issue. While there I came across an adorable couple, Christy & Gary Winston-highschool sweet hearts, who created a unique children's line, Ever After, named after their daughter, Ever.  In December of 2009 they found themselves laid off from their respective jobs and took a leap of faith-downsizing their lifestyle (moving from a 3 bedroom to a 1 bedroom apartment, forgoing dinners out & movies etc) to follow a dream and create a remarkable collection of children's clothing that gives back to a charity of your choice with every single purchase. I fell in love right there on the spot. At the time, pregnant and showing I couldn't help but imagine Bebe Bird in these cool threads-simple, soft & dope, the stuff Papa Bird would wear.  Check out my interview in W's blog in 2010 with Christy Winston on Ever After's inspiring story!

I look forward to seeing them this week-as well as the other vendors who will be in attendance!
